Special Service with Pres. Rodrigo Carazo

October 30, 2008

Ocotber 18, 2008, HQ Church, Chungpadong, Seoul Korea

Albert Einstein used to say: “They sit to watch what passes by.” We have to participate! We have to work towards a better future. This civilization forces us to take into consideration that all human beings, no matter what the differences are, belong to a diversity of expressions of only one human race, all of them made by God. There is only one human race. All of us are alike. It is not a matter of respecting but loving.

Welcome Remarks:

Yeon-ah Nim:

Good afternoon, brothers and sisters!

Today we are having such a beautiful day to celebrate and worship Heavenly Father and True Parents.

And today we are also very honored to have former President of Costa Rica, Mr. and Mrs. Carazo, here. Let’s give them a warm round of applause. And we are also welcoming each one of you who are in this sanctuary. For those who are joining via internet we are welcoming you as well. Welcome brothers and welcome sisters.

Hyung Jin Nim:

Welcome, brothers and sisters!

Today we have such a distinguished guest. We are going to introduce him a little later during the worship service. Today Pr. Carazo is going to be our minister; we are going to be able to hear words of God from our President. (Laughter and applause) I’ve put out my retirement for this weekend but next weekend I will be right back.

Brothers and sisters, it’s always such a pleasure to see you here. Today we have such a great occasion where we can feel the foundation we have with our friends all around the world joining together with us. We want to welcome all the brothers and sisters that are joining us via internet from all the different countries of the world. We want to include you and have you participate with us in the service. As we always remind everybody – let’s take this service not only to observe but let’s really participate in the service. That means for us to be able to pray, sing, share and listen to the words together. If we do that we will be able to offer that to God and we will be able to glorify God and True Parents with a beautiful heart of love from His children.

We want to encourage you all to be participators today not only to observe but really being able to embrace the words that will come from Pr. Carazo’s heart. We really feel that he has such a rich history of serving the different nations of this world, promoting peace and being one of the real global peace activists, working together with True Parents. We are so grateful to him, and we are so honored that he is here with us today in our sanctuary at HQ church. Brothers and sisters, it really is a proud day for us as a Unification Family – we are truly able to stand together with one of our dearest friends, our most beloved associates and, we will feel the light of God and True Parents in our hearts today. I do pray for that.

Halelujah (This love is amazing)

October 30, 2008

Your love is amazing, steady and unchanging
Your love is a mountain, firm beneath my feet
Your love is a mystery, how You gently lift me
When I am surrounded, Your love carries me
Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah

Your love makes me sing
Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah
Your love makes me sing

Your love is suprising, I can feel it rising
All the joy that’s growing, deep inside of me
Every time I see You, all Your goodness shines through
I can feel this God-song rising up in me

Yes, You make me sing
Lord, You make me sing, sing, sing
How You make me sing

Creating A Clear Vision

October 25, 2008

October 11, 2008, HQ Church, Seoul Korea

See, I truly believe that, if we are able to create a clear vision for ourselves in our lives, a vision that
we can actually visualize, and a vision that we can actually see and go
into and feel, then I believe that as we move towards that vision
,
that God will provide the ways and the method for us to slowly move
towards that vision, and make it a reality.Brothers and sisters, for us
that means truly to create, by 2013, the Peace Temple, where all the
Abrahamic traditions – not only the Abrahamic traditions, but also the
other traditions of the world – can come together and worship together
as one Unification Family.

Welcome Remarks:

Yeon Ah Nim:

We are hoping you had a wonderful last week, and we are also praying
for you to have the best in this coming week. We are always honored to
have you here in this Sanctuary, and for those who are joining with us
via the Internet, we are welcoming you as well. Welcome brothers and
welcome sisters.

Hyung Jin Nim:

Welcome brothers and sisters. Today we have a very, very special
service. I get too excited when I think about it. So I can’t think
about it right now; but it’s coming, it’s coming. Today I want to
share with you from Cheon Seong Gyong, and here Father says, “We are
historical pioneers. The pioneer must break through difficult
surroundings, and advance with a prepared attitude toward a hopeful
tomorrow.”

This is one of the very most inspirational, and I think, one of the
most hopeful passages in this section. To understand that we are
historical pioneers, to understand that we have historical
significance, that’s going to come out in the sermon. I’m not going to
talk about it now. I’m not going to talk about it now, but it’s going
to come. And that the pioneer has to break through the difficult
surroundings and advance with a prepared attitude. Notice that: A
prepared attitude towards a hopeful tomorrow.

Brothers and sisters, it is always so important to live our lives with
that “prepared attitude for a hopeful tomorrow.” That is to say that I
am already preparing now for a better tomorrow. I am already awaiting,
expecting, and readying myself, preparing myself, for that hopeful
tomorrow. I am not doing that yesterday or tomorrow, I am doing that
today. I am preparing myself to receive those blessings and to be able
to share them as well.

Brothers and sisters, before we start service, I always want to remind
you; let’s begin with the right mind set. Let’s see ourselves from
these eyes, from True Parents’ eyes, from Heavenly Father’s eyes. We
see that we are historical figures, pioneers; we are not just here for
filler, or taking up space. We are here with a purpose and a mission,
and we have value. We have infinite value, cosmic value, and unique
value. Whenever the world tells us that we don’t (have that value), or
tells us that we are unworthy, etc., we have to remind ourselves of
quotes like this. We have to remind ourselves of the great providential
value that we have.

I’ve been asked to speak a little slower, so I am trying to increase my
providential value by speaking just a little slower, so that you can
understand me. I have a tendency of going a little too fast, but I am
going to try to contain myself today and really try to share the words
and the ideas in a digestable speed.

Brothers and sisters, whenever we come into service, let us remember
that we are here not just to watch service, to observe, but to truly
participate; to attend True Parents and God in this beautiful
sanctuary, on this beautiful autumn day, when the blue sky is showering
us with its blueness, (laughter) very poetic.

Brothers and sisters, we want to welcome you once again to the
sanctuary. Let’s have a great service, and let’s return the glory to
God and True Parents today. Welcome once again.

Meditation:

Brothers and sisters, as we always begin, let us prepare our mind, body and brain. Let’s prepare our body.

Let us reach our hands down towards the earth. Let us lift the Universal Prime Energy that surrounds us, breathing in, and as we pass our beating hearts, our living hearts, let us breathe out and raise our hands to the Heavens today and truly stretch, stretch our faith. Let’s receive what God wants to give us today; His love, His compassion, His peace. Breathing in, and as we pass our living heart, breathing out, and once again, stretching towards the ground, receiving the energy of the ground, or the Universal Prime Energy, breathing in, as we pass our living hearts, breathing out, and really stretching towards the Heavens today, really stretching our bodies, our minds, our faith today. Let’s receive God’s peace, His wisdom, His strength, etc. Breathing in, and as we pass our hearts, let us deeply breathe out.

I invite you to take a seat, and let’s sit at the front of our pews, where we can keep our backs straight, and where we can breathe deeply and normally. Let us straighten our back and prepare ourselves; prepare our minds.

Tis so sweet

October 22, 2008

Tis so sweet to trust in Father
Just to take him at his word
Just to rest upon His promise
Just to know the “Thus saith the Lord”

Chorus:

Father father how are trust Him
How I’ve proved Him o’er and o’er
Father father precious father
Oh for grace to trust Him more.

I’m so glad I learned to trust Him
Precious Father Savior Lord
And I know that He is with me
we’ll be with me to the end

Repeat Chorus

The Power of Consistency

October 21, 2008

October 4, 2008, HQ Church, Seoul Korea

You see, in the end natural subjugation works on this key principle of consistency. It works on consistently loving the enemy, consistently living for the others, consistently having a public mindset, consistently living to serve the public, etc. The process of naturaral subjugation works on this very principle. We do this not by waiting around, doing nothing until our enemies strikes us and says, “I love you, I love you, I’m practicing true love.” No! We don’t do that. That’s sadomasochism, that’s not living for the sake of others. When we use natural subjugation, we work extremely hard, we work tirelessly, we work consistently, improving ourselves, maturing, consistently maturing, improving, etc.

Welcome Remarks:

Yeon Ah Nim:

Good Afternoon, brothers and sisters!

This is the first service that we have in October. I hope you have a wonderful and blessed week that is abundant with God and True Parents’ love and blessing. We are always happy and honored to have you here in this sanctuary. And for those who are joining with us via internet, we are welcoming you as well.

Welcome brothers and welcome sisters!

Hyung Jin Nim:

Brothers and sisters, today I want to share with you from Cheon Seong Gyong page 1487. Father here is talking about the original mind. He says, “When people follow their original mind, the whole universe will open up.” And he says, “Once they’re able to enter such a state of being, they will be able to converse with their mind.” Whenever we see the value that this places on the original mind, we again can be reminded of our own intrinsic value.

Whenever we see ourselves with our own eyes…. maybe during the week we saw ourselves, maybe it was not the best week, maybe we did not do our best, or maybe we did not get all those aids or we did not do our best at work etc. Maybe we had a bad week this week.

And then we can be tempted to see ourselves from that perspective. (We might say,) “Ohhh, I’m not really talented. I really can’t do this so well. I’ll never be able to succeed here. She’s so much better than me.” We can be tempted to fall into this kind of thinking.

Brothers and sisters, whenever we start service it’s so important to begin with the right mindset. It’s so important to begin with the right outlook of ourselves and of others. Particularly when True Parents are talking about the original mind we can remember that value that we have within ourselves. We can see that God has placed His cosmic value within us as human being as His partners. He has placed within us cosmic value, unique value and divine value.

Brothers and sisters, it’s so important for us to remember that, to repeat these words of empowerment in our minds, because we can get so tempted, so quickly, to fall into a different type of thinking. It’s so important for us to get into that victorious type of thinking, into that type of principled thinking. Whenever we see ourselves like, “We are overweight and unattractive” or, “My belly is coming out” (then we better think), “I am valuable in God’s eyes. I can lose 5 pounds. I can also lose the thoughts that weigh me down more. I can also regain my confidence in myself. I can see myself from God’s perspective and I can move forward with that kind of amazing destiny.”

Brothers and sisters, we want you to capture that destiny. We want you to have it for yourselves so that you can share it with others and that is God’s desire for us. Brothers and sisters, let’s begin with that outlook. We want to welcome you at this service. Let’s begin our service. Let’s return the glory to God today.

Sun Jin Nim's Special Sermon

October 19, 2008

September 27, 2008 , HQ Church, Chungpadong Seoul Korea

And that is the same for (us as) parents. When we look at our blessed children in our family, try to remember: That heart of True Parents, that heart of God – if you really connect that with your children, carrying that love to them – that true love, that unconditional, eternal, unchanging, absolute love, that love is what is gonna move your children and what’s gonna save the world, if you think about it.

Welcome Message: Yeon Ah Nim:

Good afternoon, brothers and sisters. As I always mentioned, it is truly an honor to have you here in this sanctuary. And for those who are joining with us via internet, we are welcoming you as well. Welcome brothers, and welcome sisters.

Hyung Jin Nim:

Brothers and sisters, today we have a very special guest. Yes, very good.

Let’s give it up, give it up for Sun Jin!

Brothers and sisters, today the service will be running a little different. We have presentations to give, so we’re gonna have to be running out of here, probably by 4: o clock. So, please understand.

Today really is such a wonderful day. We’re gonna be able to listen, we’re gonna be able to pray together, we’re gonna be able, you know, to sing together. It maybe a little bit shorter today, but that’s okay, it’s still an offering. It’s still an offering of heart. That’s what True Parents are always inspired by.

Brothers and sisters, I just wanna remind you all that every time when we come to service, we wanna start with the right mindset in our hearts. We wanna start with the right minds to see ourselves as God sees us, and that is, to see ourselves with the amazing potential that He has so well put inside of us. So, we wanna see ourselves every year getting better. Every year we’re moving closer to realizing that potential. We wanna see ourselves in that positive light.

Brothers and sisters, it’s always a joy to come to service, always a joy to return glory back to our community, always a joy to see brothers and sisters joining us from all over the world, and then, as one heart, all of us being able to offer that to True Parents. That is so wonderful and amazing.
Brothers and sisters, we wanna invite you again to participate, not just observe, but really participate. You’re welcome to join the songs and into the prayers etc. And really, let’s offer a wonderful, glorious day and service to God and True Parents. Thank you so much, guys.

Welcome!
